The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, "SAMHSA" for short, is the government department responsible for health efforts to promote the behavioral health of the United States. One of its duties is the supervision of opioid rehabilitation programs, which are centers that offer medication-assisted treatment (MAT) to clients who are experiencing opioid dependency and addiction. Medicine given are drugs such as methadone, buprenorphine and other drugs which stop withdrawal and curb cravings for opioid addicted people.
