Medicare is a federal program which helps pay for health care for individuals living in the Unites States who are either disabled or 65 and older. Medicare consists of different "Parts", with Parts A-D covering certain types of care.

Part D (Prescription Insurance) Medicare Part D covers substance abuse related medications. Including medications used for drug and alcohol withdrawal and medications used for maintenance therapy such as methadone or buprenorphine.
