SAMHSA Certified Opioid Treatment - Drug and Alcohol Rehab Centers - Telford, TN.

The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, "SAMHSA" for short, is the government department responsible for efforts to advance the behavioral health of the United States. One of its responsibilities is the administering of opioid rehabilitation programs, which are centers who provide medication-assisted treatment (MAT) to individuals who are experiencing opioid addiction and dependency. Medicine prescribed are drugs such as buprenorphine, methadone, and other drugs which help withdrawal and curb cravings for opioid dependent individuals. SAMSHA certified opioid rehab programs in Telford are programs which are officially permitted to give out the medicines used in MAT being they maintain their certification and always maintain the necessary requirements. One of these requirements is that MAT clients must also receive auxiliary benefits aside from medication like psychotherapy, behavioral therapy or counseling.

An opioid rehab program can receive initial certification while working towards becoming fully accredited, but must become fully accredited within a year. Opioid rehabilitation programs accredited by SAMSHA need to get licensed also by their own state. Likewise, they must register with the Drug Enforcement Administration through a local DEA office. Once an opioid rehab program is approved to operate, they need to get re-certified each year or every three years depending on the type of accreditation that was granted.
