SAMHSA Certified Opioid Treatment - Alcohol and Drug Treatment Centers - Viola, TN.

The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, "SAMHSA" for short, is the government agency responsible for health efforts to promote the mental health of the nation. One of its responsibilities is the oversight of opioid rehab programs, which are centers which provide medication-assisted treatment (MAT) to individuals who are experiencing opioid dependency and addiction. Medications given are drugs such as buprenorphine, methadone, and other drugs which stop withdrawal and curb cravings for opioid addicted clients. SAMSHA certified opioid treatment facilities in Viola are programs that are officially permitted to give out the medications used in MAT being they maintain their certification and always maintain the necessary requirements. One of these requirements is that MAT individuals must also get ancillary services in addition to medication like psychotherapy, behavioral therapy or counseling.

An opioid treatment facility can receive initial certification while working towards becoming fully accredited, but must become fully accredited within a year. Opioid treatment programs authorized by SAMSHA must be licensed by the state in which they operate. In addition, they must register with the Drug Enforcement Administration through a local DEA office. Once an opioid rehabilitation program is certified, it must be re-certified every year or every 3 years contingent upon the kind of accreditation that was given.
