Regular out-patient rehabilitation is usually a less expensive alternative to more intensive outpatient options or inpatient rehab, and is the lowest intensity of formal substance abuse rehabilitation available in Ace. Some clients are attending treatment for their first time and have chosen regular outpatient because that is all they can afford and commitment to time wise and scheduling because of work, school or other obligations. For some, regular outpatient is a downgrade to service following treatment in a more intensive outpatient program such as a partial hospitalization or in-patient facility.
Regular out-patient treatment options have individual and group counseling services delivered once maybe twice per week. Centers that offer a more diverse range of services may include psychotherapies (CBT) to assist with relapse prevention and dual-diagnosis services to help respond to co-occurring addiction and mental health issues. The length of time a client remains involved in recovery can change from client to client, and a client's progress can be judged every now and then and an extension of rehab can be suggested contingent upon these findings.
In some cases, a regular outpatient recovery facility may be lacking in intensity for a person who is facing a severe substance abuse problem and has not experienced rehab before or has relapsed following previous outpatient recovery.
