Medicare is a federal health insurance program which helps pay for medical healthcare services for individuals living in the U.S. who are either disabled or 65 and older. For people that do have Medicare and require substance abuse rehabilitation in Alice, this program will cover certain treatment programs and recovery services. Medicare consists of different "Parts", with Parts A-D covering certain types of treatment.
Part A (Insurance for Hospital Stays) - Medicare Part A covers inpatient drug and alcohol treatment, and up to 60 days in rehab without a co-pay but policy holders will be required to pay a deductible. Medicare only covers a total of 190 days of inpatient care, this applies to the individual's lifetime.
Part B (Medical Insurance) ? Medicare Part B covers up to 80% of the expenses associated with outpatient substance abuse treatment. This includes outpatient care, therapy/counseling, treatment for co-occurring disorders such as anxiety disorders or depression and drugs dispensed by clinics. It also pays for professional interventions.
Part C (Medicare-approved Private Insurance) Medicare Part D is an option for people who want supplemental coverage in addition to Medicare Parts A, B, and D. People who have Part C may have more options available to them, but out-of-pocket costs and coverage is different and may be more expensive.
Part D (Prescription Insurance) Medicare Part D pays for substance abuse related medications. Including medications needed for withdrawal symptoms during detoxification and those used for maintenance therapy such as buprenorphine or methadone.
