Military Insurance - Drug and Alcohol Treatment Programs - El Paso, TX.
The armed forces currently uses a military insurance known as Tricare to help veterans, active military members and their families obtain health benefits. There is Tricare Prime, Tricare Standard, and Tricare Extra. Tricare Standard offers benefits for retired military who are 60 or older and their eligible family members. With Tricare Standard they receive services from any non-military health care provider that is payable under Tricare, but also pay an annual deductible and coinsurance, as well as any out-of-pocket expenses. Tricare Extra is an option available to Tricare Standard beneficiaries which provides access to civilian health care providers within their provider network, with a reduced coinsurance amount. Tricare Prime is available to all active-duty members, retirees, and all qualified family members, and with this they can select a primary care physician and obtain referrals to organizations that provide specialty care.
Through TRICARE, members of the military can acquire substance abuse rehabilitation services in El Paso. This includes individual and group therapy including family therapy, detoxification, and other various treatment services. They will need pre-authorization for services and there will most likely be some restrictions. Military insurance pays for both inpatient and outpatient, but inpatient services for detox are limited to no more than 7 days. An inpatient or partial hospitalization following detoxification will only be authorized if it is a Tricare approved facility, and there are time restrictions as to how long military insurance carriers are permitted to remain in treatment. A 3-week inpatient stay per benefit period is usually accepted. Additionally, there are 15 family therapy sessions and 60 group therapy sessions covered per benefit period, which are done on an outpatient basis. Family therapy is covered one after the active military member has finished other primary rehabilitation services such as inpatient or outpatient treatment.
