The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, "SAMHSA" for short, is the government department responsible for efforts to advance the behavioral health of the United States. One of its obligations is the administering of opioid rehabilitation facilities, which are centers which provide medication-assisted treatment (MAT) to clients who are experiencing opioid dependency and addiction. Medicine administered are drugs such as buprenorphine, methadone, and other drugs that stop withdrawal and curb cravings for opioid dependent individuals.
