The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, "SAMHSA" for short, is the government department responsible for efforts to promote the behavioral health of the United States. One of its duties is the oversight of opioid treatment programs, which are programs which offer medication-assisted treatment (MAT) to individuals who are in the midst of opioid addiction and dependency. Drug prescribed are drugs such as methadone, buprenorphine and other drugs which help curb cravings and withdrawal for opioid addicted people. SAMSHA certified opioid rehabilitation programs in Marshall are programs which are officially permitted to dispense the drugs used in MAT as long as they maintain their certification and continue to meet certain requirements.
