The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, "SAMHSA" for short, is the government agency responsible for health efforts to promote the behavioral health of the U.S.. One of its obligations is the administering of opioid treatment facilities, which are centers who provide medication-assisted treatment (MAT) to clients who are in the midst of opioid addiction and dependency. Medications prescribed are drugs like methadone, buprenorphine and other drugs that help withdrawal and curb cravings for opioid dependent people.
