It is a known fact that individuals in rehabilitation for substance abuse are more likely to smoke tobacco, 75 percent in fact. As such very few facilities address the situation as a primary addiction, despite the fact that helping clients stop smoking while in rehab is associated with a 25 percent greater possibility they will stay sober from alcohol and drugs. As a result, there are 'smoking not allowed' drug rehab centers in Tell that enforce a smoking ban and most of them also provide nicotine addiction treatment.
While total bans on smoking are not normal, more and more programs are actually starting to enforce their own bans, but also state and local tobacco-free workplace mandates angle to make facilities completely smoke free. In doing so, they bypass the need to develop and implement facility policies that are already legally in place and enforced legally by state and local agencies. Enforcing a complete smoking ban may make hesitant potential clients who smoke starting treatment. At the same time it will help those who do choose a no smoking alcohol and/or drug addiction rehab center be better able to recover in a completely drug and addiction free environment.
