The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, "SAMHSA" for short, is the government department responsible for efforts to advance the behavioral health of the United States. One of its responsibilities is the supervision of opioid rehabilitation programs, which are centers who offer medication-assisted treatment (MAT) to people who are in the midst of opioid addiction and dependency. Medicine administered are drugs like buprenorphine, methadone, and other drugs which help withdrawal and curb cravings for opioid dependent clients.
