Substance abuse facilities for Military Veterans are essential for the mental well-being and overall stability of Vets of all branches of the military. Because drug and alcohol abuse and other mental health disorders are experienced at higher than average rates among Vets, it is crucial that Veterans get the essential help they need due to such high suicide rates also associated with these disorders with our Vets.
Drug and alcohol abuse programs for Vets in Trinidad are available from the VA, with services that include measures to address associated disorders such as relationship problems, irritability, disturbed sleep, pain, depression, and/or post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) which most commonly trigger addiction disorders among Veterans. Treatment for substance abuse and associated disorders among Veterans includes individual and group therapy and psychotherapies which can increase an individual's motivation to change. Involvement in outside support such as AA and other support groups is encouraged. Medications can also be used in some instances to help Veterans decrease their tobacco, alcohol, and drug use.
