DWI Clients - Alcohol and Drug Rehabilitation Programs - Alberta, VA.

DWI clients in rehab need specific requirements met to fulfill the conditions of their court sentencing. Treatment programs that help satisfy these requirements and terms, which are typically more lenient than traditional sentencing which would include large fines and incarceration, are offered in Alberta to provide alcohol education, counseling, and additional evaluation for individuals with heavy drug or alcohol problems.

Drug and Alcohol Education is a primary tool used at rehabs treating DWI offenders. There are different levels of alcohol education classes and this can differ by state. Level I education typically include 12 hours of group education about the effects and dangers of alcohol and drugs. This is the what someone with a first conviction or someone under the age of 21 will usually be required to complete. Level II courses would include both education and group therapy in a program which is approved by the courts. How long an individual will be required to remain in therapy depends on various factors, which can include how many DWI's the offender has had, and the seriousness of the violation. Ordinarily, individuals will be required to take the Level II classes and therapy unless their blood-alcohol level was very low when they were stopped and there weren't any other significant infractions when the person was arrested.
