Medicare is a federal health insurance program which helps pay for health care for people living in the Unites States who are either disabled or 65 years of age or older. For individuals that do have Medicare and require substance abuse recovery services in Chesterfield, this program will cover various recovery programs and treatment services. Medicare comes in different "Parts", with Parts A-D covering different kinds of treatment.
Part A (Insurance for Hospital Stays) - Medicare Part A pays for inpatient addiction rehabilitation, and up to 60 days in rehab without a co-pay but policy holders will be required to pay a deductible. Medicare only covers 190 days of inpatient care total, as in during the individual's lifetime.
Part B (Medical Insurance) ? Medicare Part B pays up to 80% of the fees associated with outpatient drug and alcohol treatment. This includes outpatient care, therapy/counseling, treatment for co-occurring disorders such as anxiety disorders or depression and medications dispensed by clinics. It also covers professional intervention services.
Part C (Medicare-approved Private Insurance) Medicare Part D is an option for people who want additional coverage aside from Medicare Parts A, B, and D. Individuals who have Part C can have more options available to them, but out-of-pocket costs and coverage is different and may be more expensive.
Part D (Prescription Insurance) Medicare Part D pays for drug and alcohol addiction medications. Including medications used for withdrawal symptoms during detoxification and medications used for maintenance therapy such as methadone or buprenorphine.
