Medicare is a federal program which helps pay for health benefits for individuals living in the U.S. who are either disabled or 65 and older. Medicare comes in different "Parts", with Parts A-D covering certain kinds of medical care.

Part D (Prescription Insurance) Medicare Part D pays for substance abuse related medications. Including medications used for withdrawal symptoms during detoxification and those used for maintenance therapy such as methadone or buprenorphine.
