Medicare is a federal program that helps pay for health care for individuals living in the Unites States who are either disabled or 65 years of age or older. Medicare consists of different "Parts", with Parts A-D covering various forms of care.

Part D (Prescription Insurance) Medicare Part D pays for drug and alcohol addiction medications. Including medications needed for withdrawal symptoms during detoxification and those required for maintenance therapy such as buprenorphine or methadone.
