DWI Clients - Alcohol and Drug Treatment Facilities - Java, VA.

DWI clients in rehab need specific requirements met to satisfy the terms of their sentencing. Treatment programs that help satisfy these court requirements and terms, which are usually much more lenient than normal sentencing which would include steep fines and jail time, are available in Java to deliver alcohol education, group counseling, and further evaluation for individuals with heavy alcohol or drug issues.

Drug and Alcohol Education is an essential tool used at rehab programs treating DWI offenders. There are various levels of alcohol education classes which can vary by state. Level I education classes generally consist of 12 hours of group education related to the effects of drugs and/or alcohol. This is the what a person with a first conviction or someone under 21 will often be required to complete. Level II courses would consist of both education and group therapy at a program which is approved by the courts. The duration the person will need to be in therapy depends upon a few considerations, which can be, for example, how many DWI's the person has had, and the severity of the offense. Most often clients will be required to take the Level II DWI classes and therapy except for when their blood-alcohol content level was very low when they were stopped and there were no other significant charges when the person was arrested.
