There are addiction programs available in or near Mint Spring that cater to both methadone and buprenorphine clients only, controlled medications which are used in what is called opioid maintenance therapy. At centers that treat methadone and buprenorphine clients only, actual rehabilitation activities and therapies are generally limited beyond this and the primary treatment goal is to treat the withdrawal symptoms and put an end to the illicit drug use. Some clinics do provide a small amount of counseling and therapy as supplementary treatment, and it is recommended and encouraged.
