DWI Clients - Drug and Alcohol Rehabilitation Programs - Washington, VA.

DWI clients in treatment need specific requirements met to fulfill the terms of their court sentencing. Rehab programs which help satisfy these court requirements and conditions, which are typically more lenient than normal sentencing which would include steep fines and jail time, are offered in Washington to deliver educational services, therapy, and further evaluation for clients with serious alcohol or drug problems.

Education is a primary treatment tool used at rehabs treating DWI clients. There are a few different levels of alcohol education classes which can differ by state. Level I education classes typically consist of 12 hours of group education related to the effects and dangers of alcohol and drugs. This is the what someone with a single offense or someone under 21 will ordinarily be required to complete. Level II courses would consist of both substance abuse education and therapy in a program which is approved by the courts. The duration the client will be required to participate in therapy depends upon certain considerations, which can be, for example, how many DWI's the individual has had, and the severity of the violation. In most cases, clients will be required to take the Level II DWI classes and therapy unless their blood-alcohol level was very low when they were arrested and there were no other significant infractions when the person was arrested.
