Medicare is a federal program which helps pay for health benefits for people living in the Unites States who are either disabled or 65 years of age or older. For individuals that do have Medicare and need drug or alcohol rehab in Williamsburg, Medicare may pay for certain recovery programs and treatment services. Medicare consists of different "Parts", with Parts A-D covering certain kinds of medical care.
Part A (Insurance for Hospital Stays) - Medicare Part A pays for inpatient drug and alcohol rehabilitation, and up to 60 days in rehab without a co-pay but individuals will have to pay a deductible. Medicare only covers 190 days of inpatient care total, as in during the individual's lifetime.
Part B (Medical Insurance) ? Medicare Part B covers up to 80% of the costs associated with outpatient substance abuse rehabilitation. This includes outpatient services, therapy/counseling, treatment for co-occurring mental health disorders such as depression or anxiety and drugs administered by clinics. It also pays for professional intervention services.
Part C (Medicare-approved Private Insurance) Medicare Part D is an option for clients who want additional health insurance aside from what the other parts of Medicare have to offer. Individuals who have Part C can have more insurance benefits available to them, but out-of-pocket costs and coverage is different and may be more expensive.
Part D (Prescription Insurance) Medicare Part D covers drug and alcohol addiction medications. Including medications needed for withdrawal symptoms during detoxification as well as medications required for maintenance therapy such as methadone or buprenorphine.
