Drug and alcohol treatment services are available in a wide variety of formats, so there is truly something for everyone in Wise. Treatment services can be done in both an inpatient and outpatient basis, where outpatient treatment services range from 1 or 2 days of treatment per week to intensive outpatient treatment services which is delivered daily. Outpatient treatment services range from individual counseling and group counseling, to more advanced psychotherapies to modify behavior and motivate clients to stay sober.
Residential and inpatient rehabilitation is offered to individuals who struggle with more complex histories of substance abuse, spanning from 30 day programs to 90 day programs. Some treatment programs have what is called a Therapeutic Community model, where participants may stay up to a year in some cases. The longer the client stays in in treatment and benefits from rehabilitation services and a sober atmosphere, the higher their chances of staying clean and being able to do so without requiring such a comprehensive system of recovery and support. Services at an inpatient or residential drug and alcohol treatment program are usually more diversified and will include services for addiction but also include services for co-occurring mental health disorders. Aftercare and relapse prevention services are essential even after long-term rehab, and many centers recommend ongoing involvement in the program for several months until the person has shifted into a drug free lifestyle.
