Regular out-patient recovery is mostly a less costly alternative to more intensive outpatient centers or inpatient treatment, and is the least intense of formal substance abuse rehabilitation available in East Berkshire. Some clients are attending treatment for their first time and have picked regular outpatient because of the cost and time commitment and scheduling because of work, school or other obligations. In some cases, regular outpatient is a step down to service following treatment in a more intensive outpatient facility such as a partial hospitalization or in-patient center.
Regular out-patient recovery services offer individual and group counseling services occurring once maybe twice per week. Facilities which include a more diverse spectrum of services may include counseling (behavioral therapy) to assist with relapse prevention and dual diagnosis services to help address co-occurring substance abuse and mental health issues. The length of time an individual remains in treatment can change from client to client, and a client's improvement can be assessed occasionally and an extension of rehab can be suggested contingent upon these conclusions.
In many situations, a regular outpatient rehabilitation facility is going to be deficient in intensity for someone who is facing a bad substance abuse problem and has not gone to treatment before or has relapsed after prior outpatient rehab.
