The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, "SAMHSA" for short, is the government agency in charge of health efforts to promote the behavioral health of the United States. One of its obligations is the oversight of opioid treatment facilities, which are centers which provide medication-assisted treatment (MAT) to people who are experiencing opioid addiction and dependency. Drug given are drugs such as methadone, buprenorphine and other drugs that help curb cravings and withdrawal for opioid addicted people.
