Medicare is a federal program that helps pay for health care for people living in the Unites States who are either disabled or 65 years of age or older. For people who do have Medicare and require substance abuse recovery services in Cougar, this program can pay for certain rehab programs and treatment services. Medicare consists of different "Parts", with Parts A-D covering certain types of care.
Part A (Insurance for Hospital Stays) - Medicare Part A pays for inpatient substance rehabilitation, and up to 60 days in rehab without a co-pay but policy holders will have to pay a deductible. Medicare only covers 190 days of inpatient care total, this applies to the person's lifetime.
Part B (Medical Insurance) ? Medicare Part B pays up to 80% of the costs for outpatient substance abuse rehabilitation. This includes outpatient care, therapy, treatment for co-occurring disorders such as depression or anxiety and drugs administered by clinics. It also covers professional interventions.
Part C (Medicare-approved Private Insurance) Medicare Part D is an alternative for individuals who want additional coverage apart from what the other parts of Medicare have to offer. Individuals who have Part C may have more options available to them, but out-of-pocket costs and coverage is different and may be more expensive.
Part D (Prescription Insurance) Medicare Part D pays for drug and alcohol addiction medications. Including medications associated with treating drug and alcohol withdrawal as well as those used for maintenance therapy such as methadone or buprenorphine.
