Regular out-patient rehab is usually a less expensive choice to more intensive outpatient centers or inpatient rehab, and is the least intense of formal alcohol or drug treatment available in Federal Way. Some individuals are in treatment for their first time and have chosen regular outpatient because of the cost and time commitment and scheduling because of school, work or other obligations. For some, regular outpatient is a step down from treatment in a more intensive outpatient program such as a partial hospitalization or in-patient center.
Regular outpatient recovery services usually include individual and group counseling services occurring once maybe twice per week. Centers that offer a more diverse spectrum of services may include counseling (behavioral therapy) to help with relapse prevention and dual diagnosis services to help address co-occurring addiction and mental health disorders. The length of time an individual remains in treatment can vary, and a client's improvement can be evaluated occasionally and more rehab can be recommended contingent upon these conclusions.
In some cases, a regular outpatient recovery program may be insufficient in intensity for an individual who is addressing a bad substance abuse problem and has never gone to treatment before or has fallen off the wagon following previous outpatient rehab.
