SAMHSA Certified Opioid Treatment - Drug and Alcohol Treatment Programs - Keller, WA.

The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, "SAMHSA" for short, is the government department in charge of health efforts to promote the mental health of the U.S.. One of its obligations is the supervision of opioid rehabilitation facilities, which are programs which provide medication-assisted treatment (MAT) to people who are experiencing opioid dependency and addiction. Drug administered are drugs such as methadone, buprenorphine and other drugs which help curb cravings and withdrawal for opioid addicted individuals. SAMSHA certified opioid rehab programs in Keller are programs who are legally permitted to dispense the medications used in MAT as long as they maintain their certification and continue to meet certain requirements. One of these requirements is that MAT individuals must also receive ancillary services aside from medicine like counseling or behavioral therapy.

An opioid rehab facility can get their basic certification while working towards becoming fully accredited, but must become fully accredited within a year. Opioid rehabilitation facilities accredited by SAMSHA must be licensed by the state in which they operate. Likewise, they must register with the Drug Enforcement Administration through a local DEA office. Once an opioid rehabilitation program is approved to operate, it must be re-certified each year or every three years depending on the kind of certification it has been granted.
