SAMHSA Certified Opioid Treatment - Drug and Alcohol Rehab Centers - Morton, WA.

The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, "SAMHSA" for short, is the government agency responsible for efforts to advance the mental health of the nation. One of its responsibilities is the supervision of opioid rehabilitation programs, which are programs who provide medication-assisted treatment (MAT) to people who are in the midst of opioid addiction and dependency. Medications given are drugs such as methadone, buprenorphine and other drugs which stop withdrawal and curb cravings for opioid addicted clients. SAMSHA certified opioid rehabilitation programs in Morton are programs who are officially allowed to dispense the drugs used in MAT as long as they maintain their certification and always maintain the necessary requirements. One of these requirements is that MAT clients must also get ancillary benefits aside from medicine such as psychotherapy, behavioral therapy or counseling.

An opioid rehabilitation program can get their initial certification while they endeavor to get their full accreditation, but must become fully accredited within a year. Opioid treatment programs accredited by SAMSHA must be licensed by the state in which they operate. Likewise, they need to list themselves with the Drug Enforcement Administration through a local DEA office. Once an opioid treatment program is approved to operate, it must be re-certified every year or every three years depending on the type of accreditation that was given.
