The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, "SAMHSA" for short, is the government agency in charge of efforts to advance the behavioral health of the U.S.. One of its responsibilities is the oversight of opioid rehabilitation facilities, which are centers who offer medication-assisted treatment (MAT) to people who are experiencing opioid dependency and addiction. Drug given are drugs such as methadone, buprenorphine and other drugs that stop withdrawal and curb cravings for opioid dependent individuals.
