SAMHSA Certified Opioid Treatment - Alcohol and Drug Rehabilitation Centers - Pacific, WA.

The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, "SAMHSA" for short, is the government department responsible for efforts to advance the behavioral health of the nation. One of its duties is the oversight of opioid rehabilitation programs, which are centers who provide medication-assisted treatment (MAT) to people who are experiencing opioid addiction and dependency. Medications given are drugs such as methadone, buprenorphine and other drugs that stop curb cravings and withdrawal for opioid dependent individuals. SAMSHA certified opioid rehab programs in Pacific are programs that are officially permitted to distribute the drugs used in MAT as long as they maintain their certification and continue to meet certain requirements. One of these requirements is that MAT clients must also receive auxiliary benefits aside from medication like counseling or behavioral therapy.

An opioid rehabilitation program can receive basic certification while they endeavor to get their full accreditation, but must become fully accredited within a year. Opioid rehabilitation facilities accredited by SAMSHA must be licensed by the state in which they operate. Likewise, they need to list themselves with the Drug Enforcement Administration through a local DEA office. Once an opioid rehab facility is certified, it must be re-certified each year or every three years contingent upon the type of certification that was granted.
