SAMHSA Certified Opioid Treatment - Alcohol and Drug Rehabilitation Centers - Sultan, WA.

The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, "SAMHSA" for short, is the government agency in charge of health efforts to advance the mental health of the nation. One of its duties is the supervision of opioid rehabilitation programs, which are centers who provide medication-assisted treatment (MAT) to individuals who are experiencing opioid dependency and addiction. Medications given are drugs such as buprenorphine, methadone, and other drugs which stop withdrawal and curb cravings for opioid dependent clients. SAMSHA certified opioid treatment programs in Sultan are programs which are officially allowed to give out the drugs used in MAT as long as they maintain their certification and always maintain the necessary requirements. One of these requirements is that MAT clients must also get ancillary services aside from medicine like psychotherapy, behavioral therapy or counseling.

An opioid rehabilitation facility can get their initial certification while they endeavor to get their full accreditation, but must become fully accredited within a year. Opioid treatment facilities authorized by SAMSHA need to get licensed also by their own state. In addition, they need to list themselves with the Drug Enforcement Administration via a local DEA branch. Once an opioid treatment facility is certified, it must be re-certified each year or every three years depending on the kind of certification that was given.
