The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, "SAMHSA" for short, is the government department in charge of health efforts to advance the mental health of the U.S.. One of its duties is the oversight of opioid rehab facilities, which are programs who provide medication-assisted treatment (MAT) to people who are in the midst of opioid addiction and dependency. Medicine administered are drugs such as methadone, buprenorphine and other drugs which stop curb cravings and withdrawal for opioid dependent people.
