SAMHSA Certified Opioid Treatment - Alcohol and Drug Treatment Centers - Deer Park, WI.

The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, "SAMHSA" for short, is the government agency responsible for health efforts to promote the mental health of the nation. One of its obligations is the supervision of opioid rehab programs, which are centers who provide medication-assisted treatment (MAT) to individuals who are experiencing opioid addiction and dependency. Medicine administered are drugs such as buprenorphine, methadone, and other drugs that stop withdrawal and curb cravings for opioid addicted individuals. SAMSHA certified opioid treatment facilities in Deer Park are programs who are legally allowed to distribute the medicines used in MAT as long as they maintain their certification and continue to meet certain requirements. One of these requirements is that MAT individuals must also receive auxiliary services aside from medication such as counseling or behavioral therapy.

An opioid rehab program can receive initial certification while working towards becoming fully accredited, but must become fully accredited within a year. Opioid treatment programs accredited by SAMSHA must be licensed by the state in which they operate. In addition, they need to list themselves with the Drug Enforcement Administration via a local DEA office. Once an opioid treatment program is approved to operate, they need to get re-certified each year or every 3 years contingent upon the type of certification that was given.
