Medicare is a federal program which helps pay for medical healthcare services for people living in the Unites States who are either disabled or 65 years of age or older. For people that do have Medicare and need drug or alcohol treatment in Juneau, this program will cover certain recovery programs and recovery services. Medicare comes in different "Parts", with Parts A-D covering certain forms of care.
Part A (Insurance for Hospital Stays) - Medicare Part A covers inpatient addiction treatment, and up to 60 days in treatment without a co-pay but policy holders will have to pay a deductible. Medicare only covers 190 days of inpatient care total, this applies to the individual's lifetime.

Part C (Medicare-approved Private Insurance) Medicare Part D is an alternative for people who want supplemental health insurance apart from what the other parts of Medicare have to offer. People who have Part C may have more options available to them, but out-of-pocket costs and coverage is different and may be more expensive.
Part D (Prescription Insurance) Medicare Part D pays for drug and alcohol addiction medications. Including medications needed for withdrawal symptoms during detoxification as well as medications required for maintenance therapy such as methadone or buprenorphine.
