One of its obligations is the supervision of opioid rehabilitation facilities, which are centers that offer medication-assisted treatment (MAT) to clients who are experiencing opioid addiction and dependency. Medications given are drugs such as methadone, buprenorphine and other drugs which help withdrawal and curb cravings for opioid addicted clients. SAMSHA certified opioid rehab programs in Ontario are programs which are legally allowed to distribute the drugs used in MAT as long as they remain certified and always maintain the necessary requirements.
