SAMHSA Certified Opioid Treatment - Alcohol and Drug Rehabilitation Centers - Plymouth, WI.

The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, "SAMHSA" for short, is the government department responsible for efforts to promote the mental health of the United States. One of its responsibilities is the supervision of opioid rehab programs, which are programs who provide medication-assisted treatment (MAT) to clients who are in the midst of opioid addiction and dependency. Medicine given are drugs such as buprenorphine, methadone, and other drugs that stop curb cravings and withdrawal for opioid dependent people. SAMSHA certified opioid rehab programs in Plymouth are programs which are officially allowed to give out the medications used in MAT as long as they remain certified and continue to meet certain requirements. One of these requirements is that MAT clients must also get auxiliary services aside from medicine such as psychotherapy, behavioral therapy or counseling.

An opioid rehab center can receive initial approval documentation while they endeavor to get their full accreditation, but must become fully accredited within a year. Opioid treatment facilities accredited by SAMSHA must be licensed by the state in which they operate. In addition, they need to list themselves with the Drug Enforcement Administration via a local DEA office. Once an opioid rehabilitation facility is approved to operate, they need to get re-certified every year or every three years contingent upon the type of accreditation that was granted.
