The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, "SAMHSA" for short, is the government department in charge of efforts to advance the mental health of the nation. One of its responsibilities is the oversight of opioid treatment programs, which are centers who offer medication-assisted treatment (MAT) to individuals who are in the midst of opioid addiction and dependency.
