Drug Rehab Everett, Washington

The city of Everett is located in the state of Washington and is the county seat of Snohomish County. Everett lies just about 25 miles north of Seattle and has an estimated population of around 103,000, making it the 7th largest city in the state. Everett boasts the largest public marina on the West Coast, and the largest building in the world by volume at 116.5 million cubic feet, Boeing's Everett Facility. The city also opened an $83 million arena, Xfinity Arena, in 2003 where it host all types of events, conventions, and trade shows.

If someone in the city of Everett is in need of treatment for drug or alcohol addiction, there are outpatient and inpatient options available as well as residential treatment. Outpatient treatment can offer a treatment format that allows someone to maintain their daily lives and obligations while being treated for their drug or alcohol addiction. Unfortunately, it can also provide a format for less success in treatment and relapse, because individuals are extremely vulnerable while still having access to drugs and alcohol which is never an ideal situation. Addiction is a very complicated problem which needs extremely ideal treatment circumstances if there is to be any type of ideal outcomes, so the more intensive the treatment option the better. This is why long-term inpatient and residential treatment facilities in Everett are far more ideal, and why they have the highest success rates in the city and statewide.

Successful Intervention Strategies - Everett, WA.

There are several drug and alcohol intervention approaches and strategies that people in Everett may choose to employ. The most effective among these consist of the Johnson Intervention Model, the Family Invitational Model, and the Systemic Intervention Model.

a) The Johnson Model

This is the model that most people visualize when they hear about an intervention. This model consists of confronting the addict when they are not expecting it, and then telling them how their behavior has affected both themselves and each loved one in the intervention.

The loved ones will then go on to insist that the addict receive treatment from a program already picked out by the family - going so far as to reiterate that they will provide their support throughout the process. If the addict is not willing to go to the rehab program, the team will set ultimatums, usually referred to as guidelines, explaining the consequences the individual will suffer if they refuse to go to the rehab program.

This threat of consequences is what many people say makes the Johnson Model among the most effective of all drug and alcohol intervention models. Nevertheless, some people may feel that this method involves too much confrontation, and rather opt for a different method.

b) The Family Invitational Model

This is another approach you may choose to look in to. The main idea is that it doesn't come with the surprise confrontation like the previously discussed Johnson model. Instead, the addict will be made aware of what is going to happen when they are invited to the pre-arranged meeting.

The addict will also be granted the choice to decide whether or not they want attend the intervention gathering, as well as respond to the issues and the suggested strategies raised at the intervention.

c) The Systemic Intervention Model

Here, the loved ones will convene with a trained and certified therapist - with the addict present. The therapist will supervise and direct the dialog towards healing and coming up with effective solutions to the problem - which may or may not involve the addict attending a substance abuse rehabilitation facility.
